The easiest way is simply to tuck the wires in under the baseboard along the walls there is a small space between smoothedge the sticks with the nails pointing towards wall and wall even better if there are baseboards which will give more gap for tuckage.
I currently use cambridge audio ultra 100 which is far too big a cable for going under the carpet.
